Maroc
The series of lozenge-shaped labels used by the Maroc company for their oranges differ
in small details. The labels are all similar in shape and identical in text.
They are listed below in order of
1.. width and height, then
2.. rounded or pointed corners, then
3.. letter variations
- Width and Height variations:
- These are carefully measured with a dial caliper but they depend upon
visual estimates of the label edges since the caliper jaws do not
touch the label.
- Corner variations:
- Rounded corners. There appear to be two radii which I estimate to be:
1.. large, radius=1.0mm
2.. small, radius=0.4mm
- Pointed corners. (radius=0.0mm)
- Letter variations:
- Capital letter 'M.' Here I refer to the four lines which compose the basic Latin letter shape as, from left to right, left-vertical, left diagonal, right-diagonal and right-vertical.
1.. left-vertical ascends from baseline
2.. left-vertical ascends from below baseline
3.. right-vertical ascends from baseline
4.. right-vertical ascends from below baseline.
5.. right-vertical ascends from above baseline.
- Small letter 'a':
1.. open letter resembling a small letter 'u.'
2.. normal closed letter
- Small letter 'r':
1.. 'horizontal' stroke slopes down
2.. 'horizontal' stroke slopes up
3.. vertical stroke ascends from baseline
2.. vertical stroke ascends from below baseline
3.. letter is taller than adjacent letters
- Small letter 'o':
1.. letter outline broken at left side, resembles reversed letter 'c'
